Agro-forestry-fishery export turnover surges nearly 19 percent in January-July

Total export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products reached US$34.27 billion in the January-July period, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.8 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

In July aline, the export value of these products stood at US$5.11 billion, up 18.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, the agricultural sector earned US$18.21 billion, up 23.4 percent, followed by the forestry sector with US$9.41 billion (up 21.1 percent), aquaculture with US$5.29 billion (up 7.3 percent) and breeding with US$299 million (up 4.8 percent).

In the first seven months, key products with high export value included wood and wood products with US$8.7 billion, coffee US$3.5 billion, rice US$3.2 billion, cashew nuts US$2.3 billion, fruits and vegetable US$3.8 billion, shrimp US$2 billion and tra fish US$1.02 billion.

The U.S., China and Japan remained the three largest export markets of Vietnamese agro-forestry-aquatic products.

The MARD raised the target of agro-forestry-fishery export revenue to US$57-58 billion for 2024./.
