The Government chief made the call in his opening remarks at the Cabinet meeting in Ha Noi on Saturday.

The Vietnamese economy expanded 7.4 percent in the third quarter compared to 6.93 percent and 5.66 percent in the first and second quarter, respectively, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

In the first ten months, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows to Viet Nam reached US$27.26 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.9 percent, said GSO.

The volume of FDI disbursement rose was estimated at US$19.58 billion in the reviewed period, up 8.8 percent against the same period last year, said GSO.

Viet Nam's trade with the rest of the world was estimated at US$69.19 billion in October and US$647.87 billion in January-October period, respectively up 11.8 percent and 15.8 percent against the same periods last year.

More than 14.1 million foreigners visited Viet Nam over the last 10 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 41.3 percent, reported the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).

Given positive figures in the first ten months this year, HSBC has predicted that Viet Nam's economy would grow 7 percent in 2024, becoming the fastest growing economy in ASEAN and creating as much new GDP as the Netherlands./.
