Head of Startup Ecosystem for Southeast Asia, South Asia Frontier and Greater China Region Thye Yeow Bok announced the above information in a recent interview.

Thye Yeow Bok said, Viet Nam is currently the third pole in the Southeast Asian start-up golden triangle, along with Singapore and Indonesia.

With the proportion of tech-savvy young people accounting for 20 percent of the total population and the Government's supportive policies through the nation's strategy for AI advancement, Viet Nam is well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities of this AI era, he noted.

Viet Nam's digital economy is expected to grow 11-fold by 2030, reaching US$220 billion, equivalent to nearly half of the nation's current GDP, shared the Google specialist.

AI will be one of the key factors to realize the above prediction. The Vietnamese Government has shown its determination, with the National Strategy on research, development and application of AI until 2030.

Google will support potential Vietnamese AI startups to commercialize and expand their products into new markets, while providing free access to latest AI tools such as Google Cloud or Vertex AI, he said./.
