Viet Nam's first LNG power plant joins national grid

Nhon Trach 3 power plant, Viet Nam's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) power plant has been connected to the national grid.

The 50MW plant wll be put into commercial operation from July 2025 after testing phase starting February 5.

Located in Phuoc Khanh commune, Nhon Trach district of the southern province of Dong Nai, the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants are among Viet Nam's most significant energy projects.

With a total investment of US$1.4 billion, they have a combined capacity of 1,624 MW. When fully operational, they will provide about nine billion kWh of electricity per year to the national grid./.
